Postma Fine Art is a Private Fine Art Dealer with headquarters in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, specializing in the acquisition, sale, appraisal and celebration of notable indigenous, modern & contemporary Canadian Fine Art. In eastern Canada we work out of Ottawa, Ontario. Clients are welcome to engage with us online, at special events (i.e. art fairs and exhibitions), and/or by appointment at our offices (or yours) for confirmed projects/engagements.
Active in both the primary and secondary markets, we offer (and seek) notable and exceptional artwork for both new and experienced Collectors, at a variety of price ranges, with a focus on quality and customer care excellence. Our inventory is not all online - please contact us if you are searching for specific art. We promote art and artists of merit and maintain a high standard of research, connoisseurship and adherence to integrity and ethical practice within the profession.
We welcome your fine art purchases, consignments (specific artwork to our 'current acquisitions of interest' list), consulting and appraisal requests. We travel across Canada for special projects.
Leadership: Our President's experience and educational background is in business and also holds a B.A. (Honours) Art History Degree, a number of internationally-recognized professional designations, has completed formal training/testing in all aspects of personal property research and appraisal specializing in Canadian Fine Art.
Postma Fine Art is a past exhibitor at various venues including Art Toronto International Art Fair, ARTSY, at Spruce Meadows; and an official fine art dealer of Inuit / Cape Dorset originals and prints via Dorset Fine Arts. We have over the years advertised in various publications including Canadian Art, Galleries West and Avenue Calgary Magazines.

Formal written appraisals are available at $200. Cdn. + tax per hour (please contact for a personal quote). If you seek a less formal verbal appraisal (or a 'walkabout') or distance verbal review (no physical inspection of the object) this can be arranged as well (about 1 hour). All potential engagements are subject to review, acceptance, and compliance to specified terms and conditions. We do not provide appraisals for artwork we have a financial interest in, to avoid any potential conflict of interest (i.e. assigning an appraisal value for the same work we may be interested in purchasing or accepting on consignment or have previously sold to you).
